Fatal Force

In the words of Torben Enevoldsen
The process…
I started writing the material for the Fatal Force album in the beginning of 2005. My goal was to make a very melodic and straight forward hard rock album. Paying more attention to the melody, and basically trying to get to the point of each song, rather than doing fancy and elaborate arrangements.
While working on the album in my studio, I quickly discovered that the songs fell into place very easily. I didn’t have to work that hard on the arrangements and that felt very good indeed. Sometimes it felt as if the songs wrote themselves, so the actual writing process was a very pleasant experience for me.
Those taking part…
I wanted to work with Mats Levén on this album, because I really love his voice. He has such a natural rasp and there seems to be no limit to his vocal abilities. It has been a true pleasure working with him!
I asked Daniel Flores to play the drums, because I had heard him play on various projects and really liked his approach to drumming a lot. He has got great swing and is able to keep rock hard timing. Now that’s a winning combination!
The recording process…
I started out doing demos here at home and then sent them to the other guys. Mats and Daniel then did their parts in Stockholm and sent everything to me. It was now my job to put everything together. I recorded all the guitars, bass and keyboards in my own studio, The Lab, here in Denmark where I live.
The mixing process…
I have wanted to work with Tommy Hansen for an awful long time and I decided that it was time for us to collaborate. I went to Jailhouse Studios in the beginning of December 2005 and the mix and mastering was completed before Christmas. It was great working with an experienced guy like Tommy and I definitely picked up a few pointers a long the way…
All in all…
It has truly been a great experience doing this album and the Fatal Force story has just begun!
